| Obverse description | Bracteate type featuring four heraldic shields arranged in cruciform disposition, with opposite shields bearing identical devices: an eagle displayed alternating with a facing bust of Saint Reinold, patron saint of Dortmund. The composition is centered on a cross dividing the field into four quarters, each canton occupied by one of the paired armorial charges. The design is executed in the low-relief hammered style typical of late medieval German municipal coinage. |
