Obverse description Central field occupied by the civic arms of Cheb: a quartered shield displaying in the upper half a displayed eagle and in the lower half a diagonal lattice or basketwork pattern, surmounted by a mural crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the date 1516 appearing above the crowned shield. The overall design is executed in the bold, low-relief style characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered small coinage.

Reverse description Central field displays the civic arms of Cheb within a plain shield: the upper portion bearing a spread eagle and the lower portion featuring a diagonal interlaced lattice device, consistent with the arms of the city. The shield is surmounted by a crown and set within a beaded circle. The reverse is generally devoid of a surrounding legend, presenting a flat, worn field typical of heavily circulated hammered hellers of this period.
