Reverse description Head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp visible over the crown and the paws knotted at the throat. The portrait is set within a shallow incuse linear square, a hallmark feature of Mytilenean electrum hekte coinage. The youthful, idealized features of the hero are rendered in fine relief with carefully detailed curling hair visible beneath the lion skin. The design is executed in the high-quality engraving style characteristic of late classical Lesbian electrum issues.
