Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square, deeply impressed and divided into four recessed triangular sections by raised diagonal ridges meeting at the centre, forming a windmill or mill-sail pattern. This standard incuse punch type is characteristic of early archaic Greek coinage and was employed as the reverse die for hammered electrum fractions. The surface of the incuse sections displays the rough texture typical of archaic punch strikes.
