| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square occupying the full reverse of the flan, divided into four recessed compartments by two raised ridges crossing at right angles at the center. The four sunken panels display alternating rough and smooth surfaces resulting from the punch technique. This standard mill-sail incuse type is characteristic of early electrum coinage from western Asia Minor and the Propontis, serving as the functional countermark of the die-struck obverse. |
