| Obverse description | Facing right, the helmeted head of Athena rendered in fine archaic-to-classical style, wearing a crested Attic helmet with a raised cheekpiece; the goddess's hair flows in elegant locks beneath the helmet's brim. The facial features are finely modelled with a prominent nose, well-defined eye, and slightly parted lips characteristic of late fifth-century Lesbian engraving. The flan displays the characteristic warm golden hue of Mytilenean electrum. No legend or inscription appears in the field. |
