Obverse description Facing right, the helmeted head of Athena rendered in fine archaic-to-classical style, wearing a crested Attic helmet with a raised cheekpiece; the goddess's hair flows in elegant locks beneath the helmet's brim. The facial features are finely modelled with a prominent nose, well-defined eye, and slightly parted lips characteristic of late fifth-century Lesbian engraving. The flan displays the characteristic warm golden hue of Mytilenean electrum. No legend or inscription appears in the field.

Reverse description Within a recessed incuse square, a linear square frames the portrait bust of the Persian satrap Pharnabazos facing right, distinguished by his characteristic satrapal tiara or headdress rendered in fine relief. The portrait exhibits strong, individualistic facial features including a prominent nose, beard, and defined brow, reflecting the Achaemenid Persian iconographic tradition adapted by Greek die-engravers. The incuse technique, standard for Mytilenean hektes of this period, creates a contrasting sunken field surrounding the linear border. No inscription or legend is present.
