Above the bull's head, the city abbreviation M (for Mytilene) is inscribed in Greek characters. The incuse square border is clearly defined, consistent with the hammered technique employed for Lesbian electrum hektes of this series. The composition is well-centred within the square, with the horn tips nearly reaching the upper border. |
