| Reverse description | The reverse displays two adjacent incuse squares of slightly differing sizes, impressed side by side into the flat surface of the flan, a hallmark of early archaic coinage technique used to displace metal and confirm the coin's electrum content. The interiors of both punches exhibit irregular striated texturing resulting from the punch faces. No legend, symbol, or subsidiary design is present. The overall reverse surface is flat to slightly convex, consistent with archaic Ionian hektes of this period. |
