| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bearded male head in left profile, identified as Hephaistos, wearing a close-fitting pilos or artisan's cap. To the right of the main device, a small incuse seal (phoke) is depicted facing downward, serving as the civic badge of Phokaia. The portrait is rendered in the archaic Greek style, with carefully articulated facial features characteristic of Ionian die-cutting of the late fifth century BC. The field is otherwise plain, with the image occupying the full flan. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Quadripartite incuse square divided into four equal rectangular compartments by raised ridges forming a cross, creating alternating raised and sunken sections in a windmill or pinwheel arrangement. The incuse is deeply struck and irregular in texture, consistent with hammered electrum coinage of archaic Ionia. The design fills the entire reverse field with no legend or additional devices. This type of reverse is characteristic of Phokaian hektes of the late archaic and early classical periods. |
