Obverse description Bare head of Herakles facing right, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the mane rendered in fine parallel striations and the open jaws visible atop the hero's crown. The facial features are boldly modelled in high relief, conveying a vigorous archaic style characteristic of early fifth-century Lesbian electrum coinage. No legend or inscription appears in the smooth surrounding field.
