| Obverse description | Bare head of Artemis facing right, crowned with an olive wreath, the hair rendered in loose strands falling to the neck. A pendant earring adorns the ear and a pearl necklace encircles the throat. The portrait is executed in the Hellenistic Greek tradition, displaying fine naturalistic modelling characteristic of Massalian coinage widely imitated by Celtic peoples of northern Italy. |
