| Reverse description | A large plain cross occupies the center of the field, with a smaller cross patee placed in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the main cross, a device characteristic of Provencal hardis of this era. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with a circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering running along the outer periphery. The flat, wide cross design is typical of hammered billon coinage produced in southern France during the reign of Louis XII. |
