| Obverse description | Half-length frontal effigy of Louis XI standing beneath a canopy, crowned and robed in royal vestments, holding an upright sword in his right hand. The figure is rendered in the Gothic style typical of late medieval French billon coinage. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters is interrupted at the base by the lower edge of the royal figure. An inner beaded circle frames the royal portrait. |

| Reverse description | A plain cross pattee divides the field into four quarters, with the cantons decorated alternately: a royal crown appears in the first and fourth quarters, and a fleur-de-lis in the second and third quarters. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular legend in uncial Latin characters distributed around the periphery. The overall composition is characteristic of the monetary reform issues of Louis XI. |
