| Reverse description | A plain cross divides the field into four quarters, with two crowned coronets appearing in the first and fourth quarters and two fleurs-de-lis in the second and third quarters. A crescent is placed beneath the centre of the cross at the nave. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by colon punctuation marks, reads SIT NOMEN DNI BENEDICTUM, an invocation of praise derived from Psalm 113. The composition follows the standard heraldic arrangement of Anglo-Gascon hardi coinage adapted for the French royal house. |
