| Obverse description | Central depiction of the Gothic facade of the Münster Town Hall (Rathaus), rendered in fine relief with elaborate tracery, pinnacles, and arched windows characteristic of 14th-century Westphalian Gothic architecture. In the lower portion of the field, a horse-drawn covered wagon is depicted passing before the building's arcade. A ring of twelve European stars encircles the upper field. The curved legend WESTFÄLISCHES MÜNSTER QUARTIER arcs around the periphery, with the dates 1293 and 1996 inscribed to the left of the building and the denomination 5 EURO to the right. |
