| Beschrijving keerzijde | King David, crowned and nimbed, is depicted enthroned in full frontal view upon an elaborate Gothic throne, holding a harp in his left hand, rendered in the style typical of late medieval ecclesiastical coinage. Below the enthroned figure, the shield of the Bishopric of Utrecht — bearing a cross — is prominently displayed in the lower field. Flanking the throne are Gothic architectural elements including canopied finials. The circumferential Latin legend, punctuated by rosette stops, references the biblical election of David, encircling the entire design within a beaded border. |
