Obverse description Half-length facing figure of King David, crowned and robed, playing a harp held in his left hand, set above a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the four-fold arms of the Bishopric of Utrecht. The episcopal supporters flank the shield on either side. A beaded inner circle frames the composition, with the encircling legend in Gothic uncial characters reading MEMENTO DOMINE DAVID.
