Obverse description Saint Andrew depicted full-length and facing forward in the field, robed in flowing drapery and nimbed, with his characteristic saltire cross positioned diagonally behind him. The saint stands upon a small decorative element at the base, his arms extended to grasp the arms of the cross. The figure is rendered in the Late Gothic style typical of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. The legend SANCTVS ANDREAS runs in uncial Latin characters within a beaded inner circle, enclosed by a plain outer rim.
