Obverse description A large royal crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis occupies the central field, set within a plain inner circle bordered by a beaded ring. The crown is rendered in a Gothic style characteristic of 15th-century Navarrese coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the beaded border, reading the names and titles of the joint rulers John and Blanche. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered medieval coinage, with some legend partially off-flan at the edges.
