| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is dominated by a large royal crown occupying the upper portion of the field, rendered in high relief with characteristic Gothic trefoil ornamentation and prominent arched bands. Below the crown, the royal legend is inscribed in three lines across the field in bold Gothic lettering: SIGISMVND / PRIM REX / POLONIE, identifying the issuer as Sigismund I, first of that name, King of Poland. A small decorative rosette or fleur-de-lis ornament appears at the base of the inscription. The overall design is typical of early sixteenth-century Polish hammered coinage, emphasizing regal authority through the crown motif rather than a royal portrait. |
