The surrounding circumferential legend in uncial Gothic lettering reads: +KAZIMIRI : R : POLONIE : NATVS, proclaiming Sigismund as the son of Casimir, King of Poland, affirming his royal Jagiellonian lineage. The reverse flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hand-hammered medieval minting practice. |
