Reverse description A bold plain cross with equal arms divides the reverse into four quarters, each containing a portion of the surrounding circular legend in Gothic lettering. Small floral or rosette stops punctuate the legend at the cardinal points. The cross arms extend nearly to the inner beaded border, which is itself enclosed by a further beaded outer border conforming to the irregular hammered flan. The overall design follows the standard grosso agontano type current in northern Italy during the mid-14th century.
