| Obverse description | Central field features a divided heraldic shield, the dexter half bearing a cross and the sinister half displaying a displayed eagle, rendered in the Gothic style typical of Sardinian medieval coinage. The shield is set within a double inner circle. A continuous circular legend in Latin surrounds the shield, identifying the co-rulers Guelfo and Lotto della Gheradesca as Counts of Donoratico and lords of part of the Kingdom of Callers (Cagliari). The lettering is executed in Gothic characters characteristic of late 13th-century Italian communal coinage. |
