| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by a heraldic shield charged with three fleurs-de-lis arranged in the French royal manner, surmounted by a royal crown of elaborate form. Flanking the shield on either side is the Visconti biscione (crowned serpent), the emblem of the Duchy of Milan, rendered in relief in the hammered style typical of late medieval Italian coinage. The shield and supporters are set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, separated from the central device by a dotted border, reads in Gothic lettering and invokes the royal title of Louis XII of France. |
