Obverse description Central field displays the Carrara dynastic arms depicting two wheeled carts in heraldic arrangement, the shield dividing the gothic initials F and I flanking left and right. The arms are rendered in bold relief characteristic of late 14th-century Italian hammered coinage. A circular inner border separates the central device from the surrounding peripheral legend. The outer legend is inscribed in gothic uncial characters running clockwise around the coin's circumference.
