| Reverse description | Central motif is a cross pattée set within a polylobe (multifoil) border, the interior points of which are each decorated with a trefoil ornament, lending the design a distinctly Gothic character. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding annular legend, invoking the authority of Conrad, King of the Romans — a traditional formulaic reference retained on Genoese coinage long after its original political relevance — terminates with the initial of the responsible mint official, here the letter A. |
