Reverse description Saint John the Baptist, nimbed and enthroned facing, his right hand raised in benediction with the Guelph arms displayed at his fingertips, and a cross-tipped staff resting on his left shoulder. The figure is depicted in flowing robes with fine drapery detail consistent with mid-fifteenth-century Florentine die-cutting. The saint's right foot projects into and divides the surrounding circular Latin legend. The legend concludes with the mintmaster's mark identifying the semester of issue.
