Obverse description An eagle displayed with wings spread stands facing on a rocky ground, its head turned to the right. The bird is rendered in fine relief with detailed feathering across the wings and body, characteristic of della Rovere dynastic imagery. The legend FRANC MA DVX VRBINI runs around the periphery, divided by the eagle's wings, within a beaded or rope inner border. The field is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered silver production of the Italian Renaissance period.
