Reverse description Forward-facing bust of Saint Prospero, nimbate and vested in episcopal robes with a bishop's mitre, rendered in a hieratic frontal style consistent with Italian Renaissance devotional imagery. The saint's hands are visible before him in a formal pose. Below the bust, an oval shield bearing the arms of Reggio divides the circular legend into two sections. The composition reflects the standard hagiographic portrait type employed on civic and ecclesiastical coinage of northern Italy in the late 15th century.
