| Obverse description | Central field displays the papal coat of arms of Clement XI within an elaborate baroque cartouche, the shield divided horizontally with the lower portion bearing three mountains — the Albani family device. The arms are surmounted by the papal tiara and flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter, rendered in high relief with foliate mantling. The circular Latin legend reads CLEM٠XI P٠M٠A VII around the periphery, with a milled border enclosing the entire design. |
