| Obverse description | Full-length frontal figure of Saint Hermagoras (Ermagoras), patron of Aquileia, depicted mitred and nimbate, raising his right hand in blessing and holding a patriarchal cross in his left hand. The saint's robes are rendered in the stylized Gothic manner typical of northern Italian ecclesiastical coinage of the fourteenth century. The legend is divided by the standing figure on either side in the field, naming the saint in abbreviated Latin. A beaded border frames the design. |
