| Reverse description | Central field features a bold Greek cross pattée set within a quadrilobe frame, with trefoil leaf ornaments decorating the cusps and spandrels of the lobes, closely mirroring the decorative vocabulary of the obverse. A beaded inner border frames the device. The surrounding legend, rendered in uncial Latin, reads COVNRADVS REX, invoking the name of the Holy Roman Emperor Conrad as nominal overlord — a traditional formula on Genoese coinage maintained well beyond the reign of any actual Conrad, here used as a legitimising device under French suzerainty. Rosette stops punctuate the legend. |
