| Reverse description | A bold, striated cross with ribbed or rope-like arms occupies the full field, its four arms terminating in small globules or pellets at each tip. A quatrefoil ornament is placed at the central crossing point of the arms. The four quadrants created by the cross are plain. A circular Latin legend encircles the design along the periphery, separated from the central type by a beaded inner border. The overall execution is consistent with mid-sixteenth-century North Italian hammered silver coinage. |
