| Descrição do anverso | A bold long cross pattée divides the field into four quadrants, each containing a decorative motif rendered in the Gothic style typical of mid-14th-century Aquitaine coinage. The cross extends to an inner beaded circle, beyond which the circumferential legend runs in uncial Latin characters. The die work, characteristic of hammered coinage, shows the irregular flan typical of the period. The overall composition reflects the influence of English sterling gros coinage adapted for Gascon circulation. |

| Descrição do reverso | A rampant lion passant to the left occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, stylised Gothic manner with a crown above its head and foliate or trefoil ornaments surrounding the figure, filling the inner circle. The lion, emblematic of the Plantagenet dynasty and its Gascon lordship, is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend in uncial Latin letters identifies the issuing mint. The flan is irregular and the relief somewhat flat, consistent with hammered production at the La Rochelle mint during the reign of Edward III. |
