| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consists of a heraldic shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged two-and-one, surmounted by a prominent royal crown with trefoil finials, all set within a beaded inner circle. The quarters of the field around the shield are decorated with floral or trefoil ornaments. An outer legend in uncial Latin characters encircles the design within the beaded border, proclaiming Edward's title as Duke of Aquitaine. The overall style reflects the Gothic engraving conventions of the Bordeaux mint in the late 1350s. |
