| Obverse description | Central field displays the heraldic shield of Basel — a black crozier on a white ground — set within a cusped Gothic quatrefoil frame with raised lobed borders. The shield is rendered in fine relief typical of mid-15th-century Swiss hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding circular legend.
