Obverse description Tournois-style turreted castle with a crown at its summit, rendered in the Gothic tradition, set within a beaded inner circle. The outer border features a ring of ten fleurs-de-lis and one small escutcheon bearing the arms of Bar, positioned at the base. A Latin legend surrounds the central device within the beaded circle, identifying the issuing authority. The overall design closely follows the iconographic conventions of the French gros tournois, adapted for the County of Bar.
