(Translation: Henry, Count of Bar.)
Reverse description A bold short cross pattée occupies the center of the reverse, its arms extending to a beaded inner circle that divides the interior legend into four segments. The legend, rendered in Gothic Latin script, fills both the inner and outer annular fields, invoking a religious benediction and identifying the mint of Saint-Mihiel. The outer legend is separated from the inner field by the beaded circle, with punctuation marks dividing the words throughout. The treatment is consistent with the reverse design of contemporary gros tournois struck in the Lorraine region.
