Obverse description Central field depicts a tournois-style castle with a cross surmounting its tower, rendered in the Gothic hammered tradition, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A circular legend in uncial Latin script surrounds the castle motif, itself bordered by an outer ring of twelve fleur-de-lis arranged evenly around the circumference. The overall design closely follows the typology of the French gros tournois, adapted for the County of Bar.
