Obverse description Two heraldic shields of the arms of Bar displayed side by side in the central field, each bearing the distinctive Bar blazon. A sunwheel ornament appears both above and below the paired shields, lending a symmetrical decorative quality to the composition. The design is contained within concentric solid and beaded circular borders, typical of Gothic hammered gros coinage. The surrounding legend in uncial lettering identifies the issuer.
