正面描述 Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the central field, with wings spread. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer margin between two beaded borders, reading FRIDERIC*ROZ*IMPAT*A*E*I*O*V, referencing Frederick as Roman Emperor and evoking his celebrated vowel device (A.E.I.O.V.). The design is executed in the bold, angular style characteristic of late fifteenth-century Austrian hammered coinage.

附加信息

Frederick V — better known as Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor — issued this groschen during a period when his authority over Austria itself was repeatedly contested. His cousin Albert VI seized Vienna outright in 1462, forcing Frederick into a humiliating siege of his own Hofburg treasury. By 1482, Frederick had outlasted most of his enemies, but the Austrian duchies remained administratively fractured, and coinage authority was exercised piecemeal across competing mints. The Vienna attribution places this squarely within the imperial capital's output during a period of cautious fiscal consolidation following decades of dynastic civil war.
