Obverse description A bold long cross pattée extends to the coin's edge, dividing the field into four quadrants, each containing a Gothic letter in uncial script. The peripheral legend, rendered in uncial characters, reads BnDICTV SIT nOmE DnI NRI D ED REX AnGLIE, invoking the divine blessing and affirming Edward's title as King of England. The cross arms feature a beaded inner border typical of Anglo-Gascon hammered coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. The irregular flan and characteristic die-struck relief are consistent with the hand-hammered production methods of the Bordeaux workshops.

Reverse description Central type depicts a stylised Château Tournois — a turreted tower or castle — rendered in bold relief within a circular inner field, surrounded by an elaborate wreath of trefoil and foliate leaves, a decorative motif characteristic of Anglo-Gascon gros tournois-derived coinage. Star-shaped ornaments and crescents punctuate the foliate border, adding to the richness of the design. The peripheral legend DVX AQITAnIE, in uncial script, identifies Edward III as Duke of Aquitaine. The overall composition reflects the influence of the French gros tournois type adapted for Gascon circulation during the Hundred Years' War period.
