| 正面描述 | Central field dominated by a bold long cross extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a crowned fleur-de-lis or crown motif in Gothic style. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A two-line Latin legend surrounds the design, with the outer legend separated from the inner circle by a secondary beaded border, all characteristic of 14th-century French feudal billon coinage. |

Charles of Blois struck coinage as Duke of Brittany during his long struggle against John de Montfort for control of the duchy — a conflict that ran for over two decades as a proxy war between France and England. His capture at La Roche-Derrien in 1347 left him a prisoner in England for nine years, and his eventual release required a ransom that strained Breton finances severely. The Limoges issues fall within the final years of his claim, ending with his death at the Battle of Auray in 1364.
