Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold long cross extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a crowned fleur-de-lis or crown motif in Gothic style. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A two-line Latin legend surrounds the design, with the outer legend separated from the inner circle by a secondary beaded border, all characteristic of 14th-century French feudal billon coinage.
