Obverse description Central field dominated by a large ornate cross pattée with fleurs-de-lis terminating each arm, enclosing a small rosette at the crossing; the quadrants formed by the cross are each filled with a crowned fleur-de-lis motif. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads BEATRIS DE SANCTO PAVLO, referencing the issuer Beatrice of Saint-Pol, separated by trefoil or lozenge stops, all in Gothic lettering characteristic of early 14th-century Flemish coinage.
