Obverse description Central field features a displayed imperial eagle, its wings spread and talons visible at the base, rendered in bold relief within a raised inner beaded border. The eagle's plumage is rendered in a stylized, feathered pattern characteristic of medieval Savoyard heraldic art. Surrounding the inner border runs the circumferential legend in uncial Gothic lettering, reading AMDCOMESSABAD, with a cross pattée serving as the initial mark. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered coinage of this period, with the outer edge showing a rope-like decorative border.
