Obverse description A displayed eagle occupies the central field, with a heraldic shield bearing the arms of Saluzzo superimposed upon its breast. The bird is rendered in a bold, stylized Gothic manner characteristic of late 14th-century French feudal coinage. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with a circumscribed Latin legend in uncial characters running along the periphery. Pellets and stops punctuate the inscription.
