Beschrijving voorzijde Central field dominated by a boldly rendered Bohemian lion passant to the right, depicted with a raised foreleg, open jaws, and a crested crown, superimposed over a heraldic shield bearing an eagle. The lion is executed in high relief with finely detailed mane and scaled body, characteristic of late 14th-century Luxembourgish die-cutting. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend in uncial Latin characters reading +IODOC⦂ MARCh⦂ Z⦂ DNS⦂ MORAV⦂, identifying Jobst as Marquis and Lord of Moravia.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central field features a long cross pattée dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a six-pointed star with a small rosette at its center, creating a symmetrical and decorative composition typical of late medieval Luxembourgish coinage. The cross arms extend to a beaded inner circle, with the design rendered in moderate relief consistent with hammered silver technique. The circumferential legend in uncial Latin characters reads +MONETA⦂ NOVA⦂ FCA⦂ LVCENB⦂, identifying this as a new coin struck for Luxembourg.

Aanvullende informatie

Jobst of Moravia — Margrave of Moravia and briefly elected King of the Romans in 1410 — issued this gros during a period when he was actively pawning and repawning the Brandenburg electorate to finance his political ambitions. The second type reflects a retooling of the die program, likely tied to his shifting mint administrations in Moravia during the years he was simultaneously managing competing claims across Bohemia, Silesia, and the Empire.

He died in January 1411, just weeks after his election as King of the Romans, leaving his coinage program abruptly truncated.
