Additional information

Erik of Pommern — Erik VII to the Danes — minted at Gurre castle in northern Zealand during a reign defined by ruinous taxation and the prolonged toll wars with the Hanseatic League. The Gurre mint was among several peripatetic royal minting operations he used, reflecting both his restless court and the administrative disorder that would culminate in his deposition in 1439.
